Napier Social Wine Club is all about the important business of socialising with wine in hand. It is open to people of any age (over 18) and status (single, loved up or somewhere in between) and is a wonderful way to meet new people and of course, meet new wines.
The wine part is not too serious. The socialising part is very laid back.
Generally, our meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at East Pier, Nelson Quay, Ahuriri and will usually involve a wine tasting, conducted by a wine-maker or other industry professional. These meetings begin at 5.45pm for a 6pm start.
We consider everyone who regularly comes along to Napier Social Wine Club a member. Once you have come along to three meetings in a calendar year, you are entitled to member benefits which include discounted rates for subsidized events.
The standard attendance fee is $10 per wine club meeting.
Napier Social Wine Club is a non profit club and profits are reinvested into the club by way of subsidizing events etc.
Formerly Mes Ami, Napier Social Wine Club was founded in 2005 by a local woman who saw a need for a social club where people could meet in a friendly, relaxed environment. She saw wine tastings as an ideal way to break the ice!
Napier Social Wine Club is run by a committee made up of volunteers. The committee meets once a month to discuss and plan events, however it is not all work and we usually enjoy a wine or two at the meetings.
The committee welcomes new members or helpers – if you would like to find out more please email or talk to us at Wine Club.
